Breakfast at 8am and we leave for Hofn. We take the coastal (lighthouse) route. We wanted to go to Vattarnesviti lighthouse (viti means lighthouse) but could only take a picture because the road was closed. Then we drive to Hafnarnesviti. A beautiful orange phare! As it is raining the whole day we only take pictures… no hikes. Due to the fog the mountains are cloaked with clouds. Then we drive to Streitisviti where we wanted to hike but to much rain. Then we drive to Djúpivogur Village to see the Eggin í Gleðivík where there are eggs as artwork. A few km's further we see a little hurd of reindeer! Then to Hvalnesviti for photo stop. Then to Hvalnes reserve beach but very little birds to spot. Then to Vikingadorpio (hoping the rain would stop) but when we arrive it is pouring! We turn back and cancel this walk. Then to our hotel to rest a bit, we see a sign that it is sand flies season!!! Dinner at 6.30pm at the hotel.
