Breakfast at 8am, very nice. We leave around 9am, first stop was Tjornes lighthouse but due to breading grounds of the eider ducks the path was closed. So we drive on route 85 with a small stop along the cliffs of Öxarfjörður where we saw puffins and a small waterfall.
Then we go to Ásbyrgi Canyon where we walk around, so beautiful, a horse-shoe-shaped canyon.
Then we drive on a new but not mapped way to a lookout of Hljooaklettar. Then of to the parking where we walk to the lava church, not easy walk and it is hot today.
We drive to the Hafragilsfoss, north of Dettifoss. Beautiful but difficult drive. Then to Dettifoss west side and Selfoss. We walk along both waterfalls, we do get wet because of the wind but what a view!!!
Then back to hotel and arrive there around 5.30pm and have dinner there. Very nice food!
