Day 18 - Driving to Trondheim
Today we have our breakfast around 7.30am and about one hour later we check out and drive towards Trondheim.
We take a little detour to have some more views of fjords and little villages. We drive on the Strandvegen, the Storlandsvegen, over the bridge Gjemnessundbrua, the bridge Bergsøysundbrua, the bridge Straumsundbrua and then we take the ferry from Kanestraum to Halsa which takes about 20 min.
Again the sun is with us the entire day. By 3pm we check in at our hotel in Trondheim and walk around the city which is beautiful. Bridges, coloured houses, boats... It is a real beauty! We go to the tourist information and apparently there are no hop on hop off busses or any tours in Trondheim!?
We ask for a good fish restaurant and there is only one, called Havfruen. We go to that restaurant, check the menu and make a reservation for tonight.
Around 5.30pm we are back in the hotel to shower and get ready for dinner.
We take the 3-course menu which has a delicious fish soup with cod, halibut and porbeagle shark. Then as main the fried porbeagle shark with a caviar saffron sauce, followed by a panna cotta with woodberries. All accompanied by a good bottle of wine. It was all so good that we book again for tomorrow as it is weekend and more crowded.
Then we go for a walk, it is still warm and the city looks so beautiful. Around 10pm we are back at the hotel and ready to sleep.
