Padinago's trip to Norway in 2016

Day 17 - Molde (Atlantic Road)

Today we have quite a long trip so we have breakfast at 7am and an hour later we drive towards the 'Atlantic road'.
A unique stretch of road which takes you right out to the ocean's edge. In 2005, the road was voted Norway's «Engineering Feat of the Century», and is also known to be the world's most beautiful drive. It connects Averøy with the mainland via a series of small islands and islets spanned by a total of eight bridges over 8274 meters. The road was opened in 1989 and is toll free.
On our way we pass Malmefjord, Batnefjord, Bud, Sandöyfjord, Storsandøya, Langøyneset...
We drive over the impressive Gjemnessundbrua. It is a long but nice route with almost no traffic.
By 4pm we are back in Molde. Have a little walk around the shops and then to the hotel for a shower and then dinner.
Because the menu was limited, we had the meat for a change. We did not take a starter, so we had some place for a dessert! Afterwards we went to the 15th floor where the skybar is, and we had a little degustive.
