Day 02 - Oslo (Vigelandsparken)
Today we get up around 8am, a relaxing day so first we have a great breakfast at the hotel's restaurant.
Around 10am we start our walk to Vigelandsparken (or Frogner Park), a fantastic park with sculptures created by Gustav Vigeland! It is a walk of about 4.5kms and it is a very sunny day.
Then we walk to the Royal Palace and the park. We stop at the Hard Rock Café for a light lunch, a salad and a housemade lemonade which was fabulous!
Then we walk around the area and pass the Norwegian Parliament, then the fountain King Christian's hand and on to the Akershus Fortress.
Then a walk around Aker brygge wharf with all the restaurants and the beautifull sail boat Christian Radich.
We meet a very nice couple from California and have a long talk with them. They also arrived yesterday and do a tour by boat from Oslo to Bergen and then on to Iceland. We exchange our e-mails. After a while we leave and pass the amazing National Opera. We walk till the Dronning Eufemias gate with the barcode buildings.
We decide it is enough for today, especially with the unexpected sun, and walk back to the hotel. First we stop at a store for after sun creme and some drinks. When we get to our room we see that the door is wide open and a key card inside for the switches... Apparently the cleaning lady forgot it but this means that our room was open for everybody the whole day!!! Luckily we always lock everything away in our bags but if you don't, one might have everything stolen on the first day! Patrick goes back to the front desk but the only thing they do is say sorry...
We relax a little bit, have a shower and as we are so tired after this beautiful but sunny day we decide to go back next door's to Brunello's for dinner.
