Padinago's trip to Iceland in 2023

Day 02 - Exploring Reykjavik

At 7.30am we have a breakfast buffet at the hotel and it is fine but bit busy.
Around 8 am we leave for a 'Hop on hop off' tour but we have very much rain and wind. By noon, we get off at Harpa.
Nathalie has wet feet, her shoes are not waterproof for Icelandic rain and Patrick is cold to the bone, we go to the 'North Face' to buy new shoes, dry socks and an extra windstopper. We have a very nice lunch at the Hlemmur - Mathöll (food court), at Kröst. Patrick takes chicken and Nathalie the cod. In the afternoon the weather is better, we walk around the city and to the Höfðihuis.
The Höfðihuis, has been visited by numerous heads of state, including the Queen of England, Winston Churchill, and Marlene Dietrich. The Höfðihuis is also well-known for the historic summit between presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan.
Around 5 pm we are back at the hotel for a litlle rest and a warm shower. Afterwards dinner in Rossopomodoro.
