Padinago's trip to Norway in 2016

Day 13 - Hjelledalen (Trollstigen)

Today we will drive over the famous Trollstigen but first breakfast at 8am.
We drive the same route as yesteday up to Geiranger, but we follow the Fv63 further up to the Trollstigen. So, again the problems with Google Maps...(see day 12)
We get lots of fog and some rain/wet snow.
We drive through beautiful valleys and back down to Eidsdal where we take the ferry to Linge. We drive up till the viewpoint over the Trollstigen where we first have a drink as it is raining and there is a lot of fog.
After our drink it clears up and we walk down the path to this amazing viewpoint. We have a great view over the Trollstigen which is a road full of heavy turns all the way down the valley.
As the fog is coming back and it starts to rain a lot now we decide to drive back all the same way as we came but after Geiranger we now take all the tunnels. These 3 tunnels are very narrow and when trucks come from the opposite direction, we have to stop close to the wall to let them pass (without slowing them down!)
On our way back it clears up and we get beautiful views. By 6pm we are at our hotel and get ready for dinner. Again delicious with fresh halibut as main course.
Again another great day despite the fog and rain.
