Breakfast at 7am and around 8.15am we leave Bergen and drive to Hafslo. We pass Vaksdal, Seimsvatnet, Bulken and Voss.
Then we drive into a beautiful valley and up the mountains where there are amazing views still covered wih snow and some frozen lakes.
We pass the lakes Skjelingavatnet and Ovrisvatnet and back down to Vikøyri. We arrive in Vangsnes around noon and take a short ferry to Hella. From the ferry we get beautiful views on the mountain range and the waterfall Kvinnefossen.
We leave the ferry about 15min later in Hella and drive on towards Sogndal. We drive along Hafslovatnet and around 3pm we arrive at our B&B 'BesteBakken' which is a steep little road up.
We check in and walk around this little town. It starts a bit to rain so we have something to drink at the Eikum hotel as there is nothing else in the village. Then we walk all the way up to our B&B and have a shower.
Around 7pm we walk to the main building (about 20m from our building) where we meet the other guests and start a chat with them. Seems that one couple is from our neighbourhood!? How small can the world be?
The 3-course dinner is served at 7.30pm and it was fantastic, as starter trout and the main was duck with 2 sauces, dessert was a signature parfait and we all had a great time and laughed a lot! It is a very nice group of people, 2 American couples, 1 Belgian couple, 2 Norwegians and ourselves (the Norwegian guide even sings a folk song).
Around 10.45pm we go back to our room to try to get some sleep, because the window can't be sealed from the light and darkness is nowhere around…
