Today we want to leave early and have already breakfast at 7am at the hotel's restaurant.

A bit after 9am we are already on our way. The weather does not look very good... lots of cold wind and it looks like we are going to get some rain.

It's a long drive with hardly any stops. In a far distance we see Devils Tower and again we see lots of pronghorns everywhere. There's also a lot of roadkills so we are extra cautious.

We drive into the Bighorn National Forst and it's a complete different view than in 2008 as back then, there was still snow on the road and only one side was snowfree but now the sun is shining and it is about 25°C, no rain today! At Shell Creek Falls, which are really worth to see, we have a short picnic.

We drive on and arrive in Cody.

We hurry to check in as a tall bus just arrived, we got there just in time before the rush!

Before unloading the car we drive to the Old Town and Main Street where an older man accosts us holding maps of Wyoming in his hand. We have a nice talk with him, he hands over a map and a bit later we leave and go for a drink at the outdoor café where every evening at 6pm there is a shootout.

We see the actors arriving and a bit later the entire street is closed off and they install a fake bank, saloon, restroom and jail on the street. We hear some loud bangs and the actors are giving some explanation of what is going on.

By the time the show starts there are plenty of people but we don't wait till the end of the show as our car can only be parked on the same spot for 2 hours and it is time to unload and have a shower.

We have dinner at the hotel's restaurant where they serve delicious New York Steak. We have a bottle of Zinfandel and finish with a chocolate desert which we share. The service is very friendly.

Once we are back in our room, the light switch goes off and at the same time we are switched off...

Tomorrow we will see the Chief Joseph Scenic highway.
